About
Cement Creek Studio is a design-forward architecture practice rooted in the San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado. Named for a small alpine stream that winds through Silverton, Cement Creek carries the imprint of the region’s mining legacy. Its waters run with the color of mineral tailings from an era when industry shaped the mountains as much as the built environment. For us, it’s more than a name—it’s a metaphor. We engage honestly with the past—its beauty and its scars—and create architecture that reflects both resilience and renewal.
Founder & Principal Trevor Martin, a Durango native, began his path toward licensure in 2007, when he relocated to Telluride to apprentice with the region’s most respected architects: Tommy Hein and Narcis Tudor. Nearly two decades of work and collaborations with them, Trevor contributed to a wide range of custom residential and mixed-use projects that have helped shape the built character of the Telluride region.
From these formative years, Trevor gained more than technical skill—he learned the value of proportion, patience, and precision. Architecture in a place like this, he discovered, isn’t just about vision; it’s about knowing the land, earning trust, and building lasting relationships with clients, builders, and communities.
“Architecture begins as shelter—and becomes refuge through its response to place. It should engage our natural world and built environment, responding to the sun, the wind, the sounds, and the views. The size and scale of each space should be shaped by how it’s lived in—whether for private tranquility or larger moments of gathering.” -Trevor
That foundation continues today through Cement Creek Studio. Whether designing a mountain home, restoring a historic structure, or bringing new life to a commercial space, we work with resilience, grace, and longevity in mind—bringing both creative vision and grounded experience to every project.
