Slopeside Town Homes
Design: Cement Creek Studio
Location: Powderhorn Ski Area, Colorado
Designed: 2025

Commissioned as a conceptual design for a seven-unit ski-in/ski-out townhome development at the base of Powderhorn Ski Area. This project explores an elevated architectural response within a resort context largely unchanged since the 1970s and 1980s. Positioned just steps from the chairlift, the site offers immediate access to the slopes alongside expansive alpine views.
The design balances privacy within each unit while maximizing exposure to sunlight and landscape. A mix of unit sizes supports a range of occupants, all centered around slope-side living. Gathering spaces and ski-in/ski-out entries are oriented to the south to capture winter sun, while opposing façades open toward sweeping views of the Grand Valley, descending nearly six thousand feet to the desert Book Cliffs beyond. The composition responds equally to climate, terrain, and experience, rooted in the mountain while remaining connected to the vast landscape below.
Our work concluded at the schematic design phase, offering a strong foundation for future development and marking a meaningful step for Cement Creek Studio into multi-family design.
